“I started baking for friends & family in 2013. I loved the entire process. I used to make it for free at first and then people started liking it, so they started ordering it.
Then I realised I should improve my skills. So, I started learning from a lot of great chefs and bakers.I am a big time foodie. When I baked cupcakes for the first time and when I saw them rise in the oven, I don’t know what high I got at that time! Then after that day, there was never looking back. I kept on baking new stuff. Things were turning out to be exciting for me.
I faced a lot of challenges in my family life. My father passed away when we were pretty young. His death was an abrupt halt in our lives. I had to take care of my father’s business. We had no choice. I was studying at that time and that was the only source of income. My grandparents were ill after that and then they passed away. Then my mother was detected with a terminally ill disease which was not curable. Living with that condition for almost more than five years was a really depressing phase of my life. My mother passed away in 2016. So I eventually lost both my parents. We had no control over it.
I was very lucky to get a nice life partner. My in-laws are very supportive in nature. Even my sister found a really nice life partner. So, I think God balances somehow somewhere in life.
You could not believe that such a family exists in the Indian society especially in the Gujarati community. Even my extended in-laws have been extremely supportive. This cafe wouldn’t have been there without the support of my husband and sister. I have a brilliant staff. Be supportive of your Bahu’s and your wives. My family is my backbone. Because of them I’m here.
Follow your heart. If you haven’t figured out what you want, put maximum effort to figure out the calling of your life. Your passion should meet the need of the society and that should meet your monetary gains out of that. So, if these three things are sold and all of that converge at one point of time, that is the thing you should pick up doing.”
